Several thieves broke into the Cape Canaveral compound and stole a space shuttle from its launching pad early Thursday morning. NASA officials believe it may be a group of high school students whose parents work on the shuttle projects and who carelessly left keys and pass codes within easy reach in their homes. The auto-pilot feature has been turned on, however, so the thieves are entirely unable to command the ship. ?They can?t even flush the toilets,? a senior official said. He added that the flight will end Friday afternoon at an undisclosed airstrip in Arizona where officials will apprehend the caged hijackers. (Associated Press)
